乳幼児の認知・心理的特質の解明を目的とする実験的研究では,従来,乳幼児の対象に対する反応,特に視覚的な反応行動-何をどのくらい見たか-を評価してきた.本研究では,対象に対する物理的な働きかけ-どのように触ったか-を評価することによって乳幼児の認識や理解を調査する枠組:InfPad実験システムを提案する.本システムを用いて乳幼児の対象に対する働きかけとカテゴリ理解に関する調査を実施し,生後2年目になると対象への触り方をカテゴリと関連づけるようになることを確認した.
This paper proposes a new framework for psychological experiment which measures infant's physical action, instead of visual one, on various kinds of objects. We introduce an experimental device, called InfPad. InfPad consists of a touchable display and a laser sensor which can precisely measure the intensity of infant's "touching" applied to the displayed object. From our preliminary experiments using InfPad, we found that infants over 24 month old showed different touching behavior when the category of the displayed object was "ball".
