インターネット翻訳サービスと辞書データ収集  [in Japanese] Internet Translation Service and Collecting Dictionary Data  [in Japanese]

ユーザがインターネット上のホームページ上がらCGIを通して簡便に翻訳依頼を行い、翻訳結果が電子メールで得られる機械翻訳システムを用いたサービスを公開した。ユーザは辞書登録によって自分のユーザ辞書をサーバ側に構築することができる。辞書登録は翻訳要求時に指定可能であるが、翻訳サーバは用語抽出機能を持っていて、それによりユーザに辞書登録すべきものの候補を提示することができる。ユーザは翻訳サーバの提示結果を参照して再翻訳時により効率良く自分のユーザ辞書を構築することができる。ユーザの構築したユーザ辞書はサーバ側で翻訳システムの辞書更新のためのデータとして利用することができる。これまでに約7,600語の辞書データを収集することができた。

We developed a translation service on Internet to which a user can send a translation request easily from a webpage through CGI protocol. The user's request is translated by a machine translation system and the result is sent back to the user by e-mail. Users can specify English-Japanese translation pairs (dictionary data) and construct user dictionaries on the server side. The service system has a suggestion system to advise a user to determine which words are to be specified as translation pairs to improve the translation quality. We have collected about 7,600 translation pairs. The users' dictionaries can be utilized to improve the default dictionary on the server side.
