Abstract
This paper describes revision of DENKEN Method FPA which is a derivative of Function Point Analysis (FPA) Methods. New DENKEN Method (Version 2. 0) improved accuracy and learnability of measurement by : (1)defining exact rules to recognize the users of target system ; (2)introducing 3-dimensional measurement boundary so as to distinguish application layer of target system from system layer ; and (3)defining systematic procedures to analyze and enumerate functional components of target system. In addition, 3-dimensional measurement boundary enabled to measure functional size of system software (e. g. , operating system, middle-ware, package software, and so on) without affecting measurement results of application software.
