3バンドを用いた超高密度WDM 10.92Tb/s 光中継伝送実験  [in Japanese] 10.92-Tb/s ultra-dense/triple-band WDM transmission experiment with optical repeaters  [in Japanese]

Abstract

Issues and technologies for achieving l0Tb/s capacity WDM transmission in one fiber are discussed. To employ the S-band, we have developed a high-performance gain-shifted thulium-doped fiber amplifier that exhibited not only wide bandwidth and low noise figure but also less than 0.1-ps PMD value. The transmission line has optimized to mitigate the inter-band stimulated Raman scattering. The polarization multiplexing and demultiplexing scheme was used to obtain 50-GHz-spaced multiplexing of 40-Gbit/s signals. With these technologies, we have successfully transmitted for the first time the 10-Tb/s WDM signals (273x40Gb/s) over 117km.
