Abstract
A study of the non-invasive measurement system which is based on photoacoustic spectroscopy(PAS) technique for measuring physiological information on human body is presented. From phantom experiments, it is shown that it was possible to measure the physiological in-formation on human body within the depth of about 4mm from the skin surface and the photoacoustic signal detected by a microphone was mainly due to the elastic wave. The clinical experiments using the present system were performed to observe the effects of the exercise and the cold water stress on the heart rate, respiration rate and blood flow dynamics of volunteers.
