Abstract
To investigate the process of pain cognition, event-related potentials to electrical painful and non-painful stimuli have been measured. An oddball task with the 3rd novel stimulation was used. Standard(80%)and target(12%)stimulation were non-painful stimulation. They were delivered to forefinger and radial site of palm, respectively. The novel stimulation(8%)was given to little finger, and evoked painful or non-painful sensation. P300 components evoked by novel painful stimuli were larger and faster than those evoked novel non-painful stimuli.
