Abstract

頭部MR画像を用いてアルツハイマー型痴呆(SDAT : senile dementia of Alzheimer's type)の鑑別診断を試みた.被験者はアルツハイマー型痴呆患者55名, 健常高齢者15名の合計70名であった.今回比較を行ったパラメータは脳室面積指数と海馬面積指数であった.脳室面積指数は健常高齢者に比べて, アルツハイマー型痴呆患者の方が有意に大きい値をとり(p<0.001), 海馬面積指数では有意に小さい値を取った(P<0.001).これらのことから, 頭部MR画像を用いてアルツハイマー型痴呆の鑑別診断の行える可能性が示唆された.

We try to diagnose SDAT by MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) brain images. Ventricular Area Index (VAI) and Hippocampus Area Index (HAI) were calculated for the parameter diagnosing. Axial T2-waighted images and Coronal T1-waited images were obtained in 55 patients with SDAT and 15 control subjects. We have found significant differences between the two groups especially in the VAI and HAI. From these findings it may useful for the objective diagnosis of SDAT by MRI brain images.
