Six New Brachypterous Species of the Genus Stenus LATREILLE (Coleoptera : Staphylinidae) from Japan

Six new brachypterous species of the genus Stenus Latreille are described as follows : S. (Hypostenus) volkeri from Osaka Pref., S. (H.) pubicornis from Wakayama Pref., S. (H.) utan from Kanagawa Pref., S. (H.) tokunis from Toku Is., Kagoshima Pref., S. (Parastenus) bishamon from Tokushima Pref., and S. (P.) hotei from Tokushima Pref. The male 9th sternite and aedeagus are illustrated for each new species.
