Abstract
A new species of the genus Onthophagus from Sarawak, Borneo, is described under the name of O. tamijii sp. nov. This new species is closely allied to O. niasensis Boucomont from the Nias Island off Sumatra, but can readily be distinguished from the latter in some external characters. Both the two species, O. tamijii and O. niasensis, are assigned to the subgenus Parascatonomus based on the structures of antennae, prosternum and metasternum. A key to the Bornean species of the subgenus Parascatonomus is provided.
