A New Species of the Genus Crataerina von Olfers (Diptera, Hippoboscidae) with Reduced Wings from Apus pacificus (Apodiformes, Apodidae) in Japan

A new hippoboscid species of the genus Crataerina von Olfers with reduced wings is described and illustrated from Hokkaido, Japan, where it was collected from Pacific Swift (Apus pacificus Latham)(Apodiformes, Apodidae). It is the sixth species of Crataerina and the first species from Japan. This new species is characterized within Crataerina by lacking wing crossvein dm-cu and vein CuA_2. A key to the Palaearctic species of Crataerina is also presented.
