A Revision of the Genus Adelphocoris REUTER (Heteroptera, Miridae) from Japan Part I

Abstract

The genus Adelphocoris of Japan is revised. This genus is characteristic in having the comb-shaped spicule in the male genitalia. Eight species, Adelphocoris lineolatus (GOEZE), A. suturalis (JAKOVLEV), A. triannulatus (STAL), A. demissus HORVATH, A. variabilis (UHLER), A. reicheli (FIEBER), A. tenebrosus (REUTER) and A. quadripunctatus (FABRICIUS) are redescribed. Adelphocoris demissus, which has been wrongly synonymized with A. triannulatus, is reinstated as valid. This paper is the first part of a series of the revision of the Japanese Adelphocoris.
