Abstract
A new species of the Gryllidae is described under the name of Parapteronemobius akusekiensis from Akuseki Island in the Tokara Islands. This species is characterized by the larger and purplish black body, a whitish elliptic median spot and a pair of crescent whitish markings on pronotum, a pair of whitish rectangular or oval spots on each abdominal tergite, and so on.
