Abstract
MIWA (1928) described a new variety, Corymbites pruinosus var. kiashianus, from Nikko, Honshu, Japan. As the original description is very brief and as the whereabouts of the type specimen has not been ascertained, there has been much confusion on the identity of this variety. Recently, I had an opportunity to examine MIWA's collection, and found out a female specimen corresponding to the original description of the body structure, with the data closely agreeing with the original account. It seemed to be the type specimen used for preparing the original description by Y. MIWA. Its systematic position is determined as follows : Actenicerus kiashianus MIWA, 1928, comb. et stat. nov. Corymbites pruinosus var. kiashianus MIWA, 1928, Ins. matsum., 2 : 139 (Nikko)(holotype, female). Actenicerus yamashitai OHIRA, 1968, Bull. Jpn. ent. acad., 4(3) : 10 (Aomori-ken, Honshu). Syn. nov.
