Abstract

Female mating frequency in the caddisfly, Perissoneura pradoxa MCLACHLAN, was estimated by counting spermatophores in the 47 females collected from hilly areas of Kanazawa in May and June, 1983. The frequencies of females with 0, 1, 2 and 3 spermatophores were 4.3%, 80.9%, 12.8% and 2.1%, respectively. Females mostly mated only onece, probably because males mainly sought and mated with newly emerged females. Short-lived nature of the females may also have limited their remating chances.
