Sericothripine Thrips of Japan (Thysanoptera, Thripidae)

Abstract

The genera of Sericothripini are revised. The tribe comprises five genera and four subgenera : Corcithrips, Elbuthrips, Faureana, Hydatothrips s. str., H. (Neohydatothrips), H. (Kazinothrips), H. (Onihothrips), H. (Zonothrips), and Sericothrips. The subgenus Pyrothrips is synonymous with Hydatothrips. Six new species are described from Japan : Hydatothrips (H.) ekasi, H. (Kazinothrips) reticulatus; H. (Neohydatothrips) mitubautugi, H. (N.) ponyaunpe, H. (N.) elaeagni, and Sericothrips marginalis.
