Abstract

Movements of Carabus (Ohomopterus) maiyasanus suzukanus, C. (O.) iwawakianus ssp., C. (O.) yamato and a hybrid population between C. (O.) maiyasanus suzukanus and C. (O.) iwawakianus ssp. were analyzed by the mark and recapture method. Walking patterns were analyzed chiefly by a regression method. Their movements within forests were regarded on the whole as random walking. Dispersal ability of the hybrid population was less than that of the three species.
