Abstract
Three species of Phytomyza are recorded from Japan as leafminers of Aralia and Kalopanax. These are P. kalopanacis n.sp. on Kalopanax pictus (THUNB.), P. araliae SASAKAWA, 1955, on Aralia elata (MIQ.) and P. bifida SASAKAWA, 1961, on A. cordata THUNB. Male genitalia and some other taxonomic features are figured. A key is provided for the Japanese species of Phytomyza feeding on Araliaceae, including P. kibunensis SASAKAWA, 1953, an Apiaceae-feeder of the angelicae group.
