The First Record of Compteromesa SAETHER (Diptera, Chironomidae) from the Palaearctic Region, with Description of a New Species

Abstract

A new species, Compteromesa haradensis sp. nov., of the subfamily Prodiamesinae is described on the basis of the male and female imagoes, pupa and larva from Japan. This is the first record of the genus Compteromesa from the Palaearctic Region. The generic diagnoses of the pupa and larva are given for the first time.
