Abstract

Three Japanese species of the tiny soldier bugs belonging to the subgenus Heterorius of the genus Orius are dealt with. Orius (Heterorius) nagaii is described as new to science. Orius (Heterorius) minutus and O. (H.) sauteri are redescribed. The latter is transferred from the subgenus Dimorphella. A key to the Japanese species of Heterorius is provided. All the three species are abundant in Japanese crop field and known as the effective predators of thrips, aphids, mites, etc.
