Abstract

Desiccation resistance of eggs was compared at 88%, 68% and 42% RH between Aedes (Stegomyia) albopictus and A. (S.) paullusi from North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Aedes albopictus which occurs in disturbed habitats had longer survival times under the 3 humidity conditions than A. paullusi which is confined to forests.
