本論文は前報に引き続き, スズバチネジレバネの生態および生活史につき断片的ではあるが報告したものである.1. 雄の羽化後の寿命は非常に短く, 4-8時間であつて, しかも敏捷に後翅を拡げて飛翔できるのはわずかに1時間程度である.従つて交尾はこの間に行なわれねばならない.2. 雄の羽化期間は6月末から7月中旬に至る最少16日間で, 最大20日ぐらいであると推定する.3. 羽化時刻は, 調査しえた8個体についてみると, 午前中に羽化したものが7個体で, 午後に羽化したものが1個体であつた(第1表).それらの羽化時刻は寄主ドロバチ類の日周活動としての訪花時間と一致している.交尾は主に寄主の訪花吸蜜中に, それに寄生している雌との間で行なわれるものと考える.4. 長野県伊那地方の調査では, 雄は寄主オオフタオビドロバチの羽化後10日目に羽化した.従つて蛹の期間は前蛹の期間も含めて約10日間前後だと考える.5. 寄生率をその寄主オオフタオビドロバチ雄に寄生していたものについて求めてみると, 非常に高く27.3%であつた(1959年).スズバチネジレバネの寄主選択性はオオフタオビドロバチに対して最も強い.6. 性比は, 調査した3種の寄主に寄生していた寄生虫の雌雄をそれぞれ合計して(1957年と1960年のものを加えて)求めてみた.結果は雌88個体に対して雄55個体であつた.7. 西南暖地においてはスズバチネジレバネの一部の個体は, 寄主オオフタオビドロバチの一部の個体が2化性のためその世代に合わせて, 2世代目が9月に出現する.8. Elenchus, Stylopsにおいて形態学的に証明されているように, スズバチネジレバネの雌の体壁も3枚の表皮, すなわち終令幼虫皮, 蛹皮および成虫皮より構成されている.The present paper deals with the biology and the life history of Pseudoxenos iwatai Esaki. 1. The longevity of the males which emerged from their puparia was very short, being 4-8 hours. Besides, the duration of the time was within one hour in which they could fly vigourously with opening their hind wings. From this, it is infered that mating is performed within this flying time. 2. The period of emergence of males was about sixteen to twenty days from the end of June to the middle of July in Fukuoka. 3. Of eight males examined, seven males emerged at 9 : 15-10 : 45 in the morning and one male at 2 : 45 in the afternoon, respectively (Table 1). As this time of emergence accords just with the time of flower-visiting activity of their host wasps, it is inferable that mating is achieved on the flowers in bloom. 4. According to investigation carried out in Ina districts, the male of P. iwatai emerged from its puparium inside the abdomen of host wasp, Rygchium micado Kirsch, ten days after the host emergence. It seems therefore that the pupal stage of male (including the prepupal stage) lasts about ten days. 5. The percentage of stylopism of P. iwatai on the male of R. micado was 27.3%, showing in its rate very high as compared with that on the other host wasps. P. iwatai prefers R. micado as its host rather than it does to the other host wasps. 6. The sex ratio of male P. iwatai to female one was 55 : 88, so far as it is concerned to the results obtained from the examination on three species of host wasps carried out in 1959 and 1960 in Fukuoka (Table 5). 7. Some of P. iwatai has two generations a year synchronizing with the generation of its host, R. micado, while the larger parts of this species has one generation a year. 8. The body wall of the female of P. iwatai is constructed with three integuments viz. the last larval skin, the pupal skin and the imaginal skin from the exterior to the interior, just as it is demonstrated in the two genera, Elenchus (Lindberg 1939) and Stylops (Ulrich 1930 and Lauterbauch 1956) (Fig. 1).
