The Civil and Criminal laws, which were brought into effect in 1898, prescribed, how people must obey the rule of "family". Novelists, who considered that the real life must be reflected in their novels, studied the system of the reality, when they wrote. We can see the new context of love story in their novels. For example, the author takes into consideration "Sono Omokage" Futabatei-Simei and the influence of the active laws on it.
