Preparation of (26-^<13>C)Desmosterol

Abstract

(26-^<13>C)Desmosterol (1) and its 3-benzoate (8) and 3-tert-butyldimethylsilyl ether (9) were synthesized starting with (1-^<13>C)propionic acid and a steroidal C-24 aldehyde (2).
