NON-COMPENSATED SUPER-TWISTED LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY (XSTN)

Abstract

We presented here a novel liquid crystal display - non-compensated super-twisted nematic LCD (XSTN). XSTN, specially designed for its twist angle, the parameters of liquid crystal mixture, the product of cell thickness and the birefringence, the direction of its polarizer, etc., showed a good electro-optic performance. The theoretical predictions on the brightness, the contrast, the dispersion and the multiplexing ability, etc. were confirmed by experiments.
