Abstract

We developed the new function with the dye-sublimation thermal transfer printer, which makes it available to print the special colors, such as gold, silver and white, on a high quality image. In order to reproduce the special colors, the wax ink made from like pigments is required. So we adopt the method to exchange and print both types of ink, wax and dye-sublimation. Besides protecting the point surface we apply it for the automatical overcoating method. Such a new function is impremented just by modifying the printer's firmware, not software like DTP applications, printer drivers. As the result of it users can continue to use the current software and obtain such new features with less expenses of just printer's version up.
