Various Cucurbita seed globulins showed patterns similar to one another on SDS-gel electrophoresis, α and β bands for unreduced globulins and γ,γ',δ and δ' bands for reduced ones. On gel electrophoresis in 6 M urea, reduced globulin gave two acidic and two basic bands. These corresponded to y and γ' chains and δ_1 and δ_2 chains, respectively, identified by two-dimensional urea-SDS gel electrophoresis. The compositions of the α and β subunits were proposed.
