マレーシア, サバ州キナバルから見つかったPolytrichadelphus archboldiiの新変種 A New Variety of Polytrichadelphus archboldii Bartr. (Polytrichaceae, Musci) from Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah

マレーシア,サバ州キナバル山の登山道沿い,標高3300mの周辺から蘚類スギゴケ科Polytrichadelphus属の新変種P. archboldii var. kinabaluensisを報告した。この植物は,雌包葉の先端が朔に届くほど著しく短い朔柄を有していることで基本変種から区別される。1997年1月および12月の2回現地で観察したが,両シーズンとも多くの群落で胞子体を旺盛につけていた。本属はおもに南米を中心に分布しており,アジア・太平洋地域ではニュージランドとニューギニアからそれぞれ1種が報告されているのみである。北半球からは初めての産地であり,すでにキナバル山から見つかっているナンジャモンジャゴケなどともに植物地理学的に興味深い分布を示す蘚類の一例である。

Polytrichadelphus archboldii var. kinabaluensis (Polytrichaceae, Musci) is described as new on the basis of specimens collected on Mt. Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. This variety is diagnosed by the straight, tightly appressed stem leaves, short setae and minutely but distinctly papillate terminal cells of the lainella. The genus Polytirchadelphus was known only from South America and Austro-Melanesia; this is the first record of the genus from the northern hemisphere.
