シマハラン属(スズラン科)の分類学的検討 I Taxonomic Notes on Peliosanthes (Convallariaceae) I

Ophiopogon gracilipes Craibの副花冠(corona)は6深裂し,それに付着する葯も比較的大きいので,花はOphiopogon(ジャノヒゲ属)のそれに類似する。しかし,Ophiopogonの花彼は子房より上部において6裂するが,本種の花被は副花冠より上部において6裂する。この性質はPeliosanthes(シマハラン属)と一致する。また,Ophiopogonの雄ずいは子房に隣接して起立し,花被上からは起立しないが,O. gracilipesの雄ずいは,他のPeliosanthesのように,花被上に発達する副花冠に付着する。本種の葉の性質などもPeliosanthesと一致する。本種はPeliosanthesの他のどの種とも区別できる明瞭な特徴を持つので,同属の独立種として扱い,新組合'P. gracilipes'を提案した。タイにおける本種の1新産地も報じた。一方,故早田文蔵博士がラオスで採集した標本に基づき,Peliosanthes属の1新種P. subcoronataを記載した。本種は同属の他種に見られるような顕著な副花冠を持たず,葯には短い花糸が底着し,雄ずいは花被に付着するなどの点で同属の他種とは異なっている(Peliosanthesの他種では,花糸がほとんど退化し,葯はその背の一部において副花冠に付着する)が,葉の特徴などは同属のそれとよく一致する。また,本種において大変特徴的な点は,花被片基部に極めて小さな副花冠様の裂片が存在すること,そして半葯の頂部間で連合があることである。本種の花被の6裂はその副花冠様微小裂片のある付近までで,子房にまでは達していないことと,雄ずいは子房に隣接して起立せず,子房より少し上部の花被の筒状部から起立する点で,Ophiopogonとは異なっている。

Ophiopogon gracilipes Craib is transferred to Peliosanthes and P. gracilipes (Craib) N. Tanaka is proposed as a new combination. This species is new to southwest Thailand. Peliosanthes subcoronata N. Tanaka is described as new from Laos. This species is noteworthy in its minute subcoronal appendage at the base of the perianth lobes, the epipetalous stamens, the basifixed anthers with short filaments, and the confluent thecae. The prominent corona seen in other species of Peliosanthes is absent in P. subcoronata.
