In this paper, we analyzed how the urbanization of traditional streets and town houses affected spatial presentation for urban festival rites in the case of Johana Hikiyama Maturi (Toyama prefecture) and Katsuyama Sagicho Maturi (Fukui prefecture). Through our several surveys, we found that many spatial presentations were transformed owing to the decrease of traditional town houses. It cleared that there were intimate relations between traditional streets or town houses and the spatial presentation for toraditional urban festival rites.
