Abstract

This is the third article of a serial in four installments of an introduction on domain decomposition method for finite element analysis. Numerical algorithms of the iterative substructuring method for structural analysis in which two domains only have a common boundary are discussed in detail. On the basis of this, the balancing domain decomposition (BDD) method is presented, as technique of speed up of the iterative substructuring method.
