Abstract

As there exists highly complicated interaction dynamics between robots and their environment, it is in general significantly difficult to design controllers for autonomous mobile robots. Therefore, the Evolutionary Robotics is one of the most promising approaches since it is expected to automatically create controllers by taking embodiment and the interaction dynamics with the environment into account. This paper sketches an overview of the Evolutionary Robotics approaches and discuss the meaning and crucial issues to be noted.
