抄録

The deformation and failure of earth structures during construction strongly depend on their construction sequence, because soils are typical elastoplastic materials. Nevertheless, in practical design, the deformation of ground is mostly predicted using elastic theory or onedimensional e-log p relation, and the failure of ground is predicted by assuming rigid-plastic properties of soils. These practical methods, however, cannot consider the influence of the construction sequence. The perspective and reasonable methods for the prediction of ground movements, in which the influence of construction sequence is properly considered, are discussed, referring to the results of model tests and elastoplastic finite element analyses.
