Abstract

The transmissivity of two dimensional photonic crystal (PC) directional coupler, which is composed of two parallel line defects in pillar type PC structure, has been investigated numerically by FDTD method and experimentally by a fabricated model in microwave frequency. The parameters of PC waveguide were first determined by FDTD simulation. Finally the numerical and experimental results have shown fairly good agreement each other in frequency range of 3.60-4.20GHz.
