Taxonomic Revision of the Leiobunum curvipalpe Group (Arachnida, Opiliones, Phalangiidae) : III. Leiobunum curvipalpe Subgroup

The Curvipalpe subgroup of the Leiobunum curvipalpe group (Opiliones, Phalangiidae, Leiobuninae) was revised based on analyses of external morphology, genitalia, and karyotypes. This subgroup is a single superspecies and is treated as two species : Leiobunum tohokuense SUZUKI and L. curvipalpe ROEWER. Each species comprises three geographic races. Eight populations covering four races were chromosomally surveyed. Karyotypes of these races were variable in chromosome number with a range from 2n=20 to 24.
