Abstract

Eight species of Lepidoptera were found on cankers of Sophora japonica L., of which three species are presently unidentified. Among them Decadarchis atririvis MEYRICK and Brachmia sp. were dominant and these two species sometimes fed on the bark of S. japonica which did not have cankers. The canker is considered to be one of the primary hosts and a suitable refuge for them. Further study revealed that three of the associated species caused damage to the bark of Robinia pseudo-Acacia L.
