The Sawfly Genus Megaxyela (Hymenoptera, Xyelidae) in East Asia

Abstract

Three species of the xyelid sawfly genus Megaxyela are recognized in East Asia : M. gigantea MOCSARY from Primorskij kraj, Korea and eastern China, M. togashii n. sp. from Japan, and M. parki n. sp. from Korea. They are described or redescribed and illustrated, and a key is given to these species. Available information on the morphology and biology of the genus is summarized.
