Abstract
A pyralid genus, Enosima RAGONOT, 1901, and E. leucotaeniella (RAGONOT, 1888), comb. nov., are redescribed, together with the immuture stages of Echinochloa spp., based on Japanese specimens. Enosima, which has long been treated as a junior synonym of Rhinaphe BERG, 1874, is treated as a distinct genus from Rhinaphe because of the large difference in adult morphology. Enosima neesimella RAGONOT, 1901, is newly synonymized with E. leucotaeniella. A brief taxonomic comment on the Peoriinae sensu SHAFFER (1968) is also given.
