Abstract
Two Mychiothrips species and six Veerabahuthrips species are reported. They are : M. crassipes sp. nov. from Thailand, M. fruticola HAGA et OKAJIMA from Japan, V. bambusae RAMAKRISHNA AYYAR from India, V. clarus sp. nov. from Thailand, V. exilis sp. nov. from Thailand, V. longicornis OKAJIMA from Thailand, V. simplex sp. nov. from Thailand and V. tridentatus sp. nov. from West Malaysia and Thailand. All of them inhabit bamboo sheath and may be predators of coccids or white flies. The relationships between these two genera as well as their systematic position are also considered. The generic name, Veerabahuthrips, is used here in a broader sense.
