Abstract
Dioxyna sororcula (WIEDEMANN, 1830) and D. bidentis (ROBINEAUDESVOIDY, 1830) used to coexist on the glass-land in Okinawa. Recently, D. sororcula increased in number drastically while D. bitentis decreased almost to extinction. Thus the interspecific relationship between the two species is of great interest. Three Japanese names have been used for D. sororcula, and so a confusion has arisen. Here, we propose that "Sendangusa Mibae" named after its host plants be used. We also propose "Oo-Sendangusa Mibae" for D. bidents which is ca. 1.5 times longer in body length than D. sororcula.
