Morphological and Ecological Studies on a Marine Shore Dolichopodid Fly, Conchopus borealis TAKAGI (Diptera, Dolichopodidae)

Abstract

Conchopus borealis TAKAGI is a marine shore dolichopodid found in northern Japan. The life history of this species was studied by direct field observations and sampling. Immature stages, food preference and seasonal fluctuations in the number of larvae and pupae are described. Adult population parameters are estimated by the JOLLY-SEBER method.
