Two New Pidonia (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) from the Cool-temperate Forest of Mt. Tai-ping Shan, Northeastern Taiwan

Abstract

Two new species of the lepturine genus Pidonia are described from Taiwan. Both belong to the subgenus Cryptopidonia ; one of them, named P.(C.) chiaomui, is related to P. takahashii, while the other, named P.(C.) taipingshana, to P. pilushana. Furthermore, the difference in distributional patterns among related species is discussed from the viewpoint of vertical distributional zonation.
