Abstract
This study reports on experiments aiming at prediction of shielding effectiveness of a square opening. A square opening was made in the center of a sheetof .electrolytic copper leaf, and shielding effectiveness was measured while varying the length of each side of the opening. The results indicate that shielding effectiveness is described by a logarithmic function of the length of the sides. A further experiment elucidated the shielding effectiveness when an opening is made at any location fora transmitting/receiving antenna. The relationship between shielding effectiveness and the distance fromopening center to antenna center was clarified.
