抄録

Recently, various kinds of hysteretic steel dampers have been developed for the purpose of response control of building structures during seismic excitation. The more effectively the dampers are designed, the more earlier the dampers yield even under wind load. So, there is some anxiety about fatigue damage of dampers induced by wind response fluctuation. In this paper, low cycle fatigue and high cycle fatigue damages of dampers equipped to tall buildings are evaluated under across-wind fluctuation, based on the results of low cycle fatigue test of shear yielding type sub-column dampers made of extra low yield stress steel, and distribution of strain response of dampers obtained by time history response analysis in addition to stochastic method using Rayleigh stribution function as a probability density function.
