Abstract

The method to estimate structural parameters by the wavelet transform of displacement response is proposed by authors. However, vibration is measured by accelerometer generally. Therefore, if it is possible to identify structural parameters by the wavelet transform of only acceleration response, it is very useful. In this paper, the method to identify such structural parameters as spring constant and damping coefficient by the wavelet transform of structural response is presented. To verify the applicability of the proposed method, numerical simulation tests using single degree of freedom system and four degree of freedom system and shaking table tests using single degree of freedom system are performed.
