Toward Universal Scheduling by The Object-Oriented Optimization Technology(ABSTRACTS OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE SCHOOL OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND ELECTRONICS SERIES J TOKAI UNIVERSITY -2003-2004-)

Abstract

In production scheduling, there exist a wide variety of problem types. Moreover, in a single problem there exist various heterogeneous decision features such as lot sizing, lot sequencing, loading, and dispatching. We present a methodology of universal production scheduling in the sense that it is applicable to a wide variety of problem types and yet it enables us to optimize, in precise near optimize, various heterogeneous decision features involved in a single problem from the viewpoint of global optimization simultaneously. After verification by a numerical illustration, we discuss its characteristics and some subjects in future research.
