Abstract
This paper presents an equation to calculate the bond split strength of lapped splicesin high-strength concrete. Results based on 8 beams and 34 pull out type testare presented. Main variables were amount and spacing of transverse reinforcements and concrete strength. It is shown that bond split strength of lapped splices is influenced by the amount and spacing of transverse reinforcement, and by concrete strength, and that an increase of bond split strength by concrete strength is influenced by the amount of transverse reinforcement. A proposed equation shows a good agreement with experimental results.
