Abstract
A fossil flatfish was found in the Oligocene Kiwado Formation, Hioki Group, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It represents the second record of the pleuronectiform fishes from the Oligocene sediments in Japan, and is identified as belonging to the subfamily Pleuronectinae of the family Pleuronectidae.
