In this study, the planning process of a brand instinct creation project for 'Okawa-Japan Brand' was examined. Establishing a furniture brand of common use for the international community through high-quality and pricey offers requires improved designs and sophisticatedly enhanced technology for Okawa furniture to purposefully compete in the markets within and outside Japan. As the first year of planning/trials, we undertake a stepwise review of furniture in terms of brand concept in the fiscal year 2005-a pleasant and comfortable/cozy beauty for the people and by the people-by innovating design/manufacture of branded products with user-friendly purposes for a city lifestyle with high-density living space based on a model unique to Japan.
