Experimental Demonstration of Coherent Optical Transversal Filter Consisting of Polarization-Maintaining Fibers and Thermo-Optic Phase Controllers for Optical Signal Processing
The suthors present the fabrication and experimental demonstration of coherent optical transversal filter consisting of polarization-maintaining fibers and thermo-optic phase controllers for optical signal processing. The thermo-optic phase controllability is realized by using the high-performance peltier controlling cirsuits with ±0.01℃ accuracy. The measured temperature difference referring to phase difference of 2π is consistent with theoretical calculations. The fabricated low-pass filters have been performed and show good agreement with theoretical predictions.
