宿根草の花芽分化に関する研究 I.ジャーマン・アイリスの花芽分化・発育についてジャーマン・アイリスの花芽分化期については従来二つの異なった発表があった.そこで, その原因を明らかにしようとして, 1964〜1966に2品種を用いて調査を行なった.結果は2品種とも8月下旬に花序分化が開始されたので, この時期を分化期と定めた.この時の平均気温は26℃, 平均草たけは67cmであった.この結果は妻鹿氏の結果(9月上旬)に近く, ドイツのKramer氏(6月中旬)とはやや離れた.この相異は分化標徴の認定によるか, 両国間の気候の相異によるか, データーおよび写真がないので明らかでない.なお近年2季咲ないし4季咲の品種が現われてきたので, これらの分化状況については, さらに後日の研究を要する。

Flower bud differentiation and development in perennial plants. I. On the time of flower bud initiation and its developmental sequence in tall bearded iris, Iris germanica L., K. KOSUGI, M. YOKOI, M. GOMYO and N. UEMATSU, Faculty of Horticulture, Chiba University, Matsudo, Japan. Tech. Bull. Fac. Hort. Chiba Univ., No.15: 1〜6, 1967. Studies were made to determine the time of flower bud initiation and developmental pattern of tall bearded iris, two cultivars, "Jane Kray" and "Wabash", at the Faculty of Horticulture, Chiba University in 1964 and 1965. As a result, late August (mean air temperature 26℃ in 1965) seemed to be the time of flower bud initiation in these cultivars and the first indication of flower initiation was the stage at which inflorescence primordia were visible. Mean plant height of these cultivars at this time was 67.0cm.
